JUZUF HADŽIFEJZOVIĆ
A Requiem for Ruffled Reality I produce objects, constructions or sculptural compositions from cast-off objects and discarded materials, which I gather in the cities in which I exhibit. I name them:
Relic Depography Trophy Depography Totem Depography Scarecrows Depography Monsters Depography Mockery Depography The depot simulacra, which inhabit empty, white museum and gallery chambers, laugh and chuckle ominously, giggle cynically and make insinuations. They are proud of their solitude, their dervish peacefulness and religious seriousness, and they exultantly slander their former owners as the witnesses of their traumatic lives. The Requiem for Ruffled Reality covertly projects out of the dried entrails of relics and trophies recalling the putrid husks of pagan gods, while in our heads the nonsense sounds like the cruel master of our simulacrous souls. |
